HP my display by Portrait Displays Inc keeps resetting every few days

Not sure this is the correct forum for this issue.

Every few days my settings in "HP My display " get reset to default brightness of 100% and Cool mode after a startup. HP Forums don't seem to have a permanent solution for me after trying various solutions . I am already using the latest version from Portrait Displays and have the latest graphic drivers. Computer is HP Envy Recline 230k011 running Windows 10 ver 1803. Something seems to be triggering the reset and I cant find it.

Maybe I should uninstall the program and use another to adjust brightness and display mode ,Prefer a warmer display than cool

    TKs

    Any ideas ?

This is not a Software issue. It is a known problem with the latest 1800 series updates for Windows and GPU drivers.

So there is no solution ? Remove the program and use something like CareUeyes to adjust brightness and warmness of display ?

You really do not need those extra programs, just adjust on the monitor itself. As for a solution, only time will tell when Microsoft will get it right.

My monitor does not have those adjustments . It's an AIO computer. I resorted to "HP My Display" because the brightness control did not show under settings/display

No need to use HP My Display. Manufacturers add this sort of stuff most of which is bloatware and confuses users with yet another means of doing the same as you can with Windows and the Graphics driver.

The Brightness and Warm/Cool(Colour temperature) can be adjusted in Windows 10. Disguised as the Night light settings.
You can do the same thing with the Graphics driver.

Not entirely sure what an AIO integrated system would give you but there is almost certainly the Windows 10 ways, and the Graphics driver.
To make that warmer just increase Red proportion a smidgen.

There are some problems with the latest version of Windows 10 and brightness changes, but that does not stop you seeing what you have for adjustments

    I uninstalled HP My Display.

The brightness slider is missing from the display page under settings
Now I have to adjust brightness via the Integrated graphics adapter itself.

Any way to bring the brightness slider back to the display page ?

That is a part of the Keyboard add-in software. Since it has a NVIDIA chipset, it is also known that the latest updates are causing display issues. As for your problem, there are workarounds.

Strange the Brightness control is missing in Windows settings with that Nvidia built in Card. I have Intel HD integrated graphics and it is present.

I guess you will have to wait until a future Windows 10 update. Unfortunately a more rare hardware arrangement is last to be fixed.
No idea about fixing that, the inner workings of Windows.

Can you suggest some workaround 3rd party software?
