Graphics Driver Issue after Upgrade from 32 to 64 Bit

Hi I recently upgraded from windows 10 32 bit to 64 bit and that all went fine but I lost the option for 1920 x 1080 for my Samsung curved monitor CF390 because the graphic driver rolled back from the pre installed Nvidia one to the Microsoft basic display adaptor. Now the screen display is not correct

OS: Windows 10 64 bit
RAM: 6 GB
CPU: AMD Athlon 3.2 GH
GPU: Nvidia WDDM 1.3
Monitor: Samsung curved monitor CF390

I've tried many fixes and drivers on google but nothing seems to work to get a resolution option of 1920 x 1080. I'm thinking I need to install a new Nvidia driver but have no idea which one. Or maybe there is another fix. Any suggestions?? Thanks

First, you didn't literally "upgrade" from 32 bit to 64 bit. That's not allowed; a clean install is required.

"nVidia WDDM 1.3" doesn't identify the graphics adapter. Do you know what it is? The latest driver should support it, if it's not too old. https://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/138697 The link lists the supported devices.

You probably don't need the drivers for the monitor, but it may be worthwhile installing them. http://org.downloadcenter.samsung.co.../C32F391FW.exe

Hi bobkn, thanks. Yes correct I did a clean install using USB. All I know is that its nVidia WDDM 1.3 I dont know how to identify the graphics adaptor. How can I determine what one it is?

I downloaded the samsung monitor driver before but it didn't make a difference. I just downloaded and ran the nVidia driver that you suggested but when I clicked run it checked for compatibility and came back with "cannot continue, this driver cannot find compatible graphics hardware"

All I can remember is that when I was running 32 bit I had a nVidia option under display settings. Now with 64 bit thats gone and its got the Microsoft basic display adaptor

What shows up in Device Manager for the display adapter? You could try the Details tab for the device, and check the hardware ID. For example: my hardware ID is PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_17C2&CC_0300. A web search on that shows that it's a Titan X.

I'm a bit surprised that the latest drivers won't install. WDDM 1.3 is Win 8.1 drivers, which suggest that the GPU shouldn't be that old.

Hi, see below for the details. The comp is probably about 4 or 5 years old. I think there is a way to check the exact display adaptor details by running a command?

It might be because your nVidia is still running in 32-bit mode.

Go to nVidia support and let it Auto detect your GPU and see what it reports.

When you went to nVidia Support, does it have recommendations on upgrading to the latest drivers for 64-bit?
Do you have an nVidia dashboard in order to upgrade to the latest drivers or other pertinent information?
