This depends on which display you are using. Without that additional information nobody will be able to help you.

Is it an actual TV, or a computer monitor?

Can you supply a model number?

I have never owned a compute monitor that powered down after losing the signal. The newer ones would go into a low-power "sleep" mode.

Whatever your monitor is, I imagine that the issue involves a setting in the monitor itself. If you tell us exactly what the device is, someone may be able to find the sertting.
