Can't change screen brightness through power option!

    Hey guys,

I have purchased Lenovo X1 Carbon with DOS. Installed Windows 10 Pro with latest October 2018 updates. I dont see any option to change screen brightness through power options but I can change through settings > display options!

Even I upgraded Intel Graphics Driver and its still same. Moreover, there is screen blurry very minor so I upgraded Graphics Driver again from the lenovo drivers website but the problem is still same!

It was fine before when it comes with Windows 10 Pro but there was all settings issues thatswhy I have re-installed Windows 10 Pro from scratch!

Let me know how to fix it!

    Regards.

Hi, there are quite a number of references to this in the very extensive thread about 1803, if you care to have a look.

Changing Brightness issue is resolved but the problem is Video's are lagging and not good optimization on vlc.

Totally Graphics Driver issue and I already updated to the latest version of it!

I was also looking for this for the basic brightness issue - glad that's fixed.

Other than suggesting you run Resplendence's Latencymon (free) and search, compare notes, hopefully someone will help on that. I'd suggest you now raise it in a new thread with an appropriate title, clearly stating 1809, with the result of the Latencymon scan.

It is not fixed at all. My brightness resets itself to 50% from its usual 85% level, about 5 min ago in fact. In effect continually putting it back to 50% for some unknown reason.

I could stop any irritating adaptive brightness before, but not now, it just does it seemingly at random.

Downloading and installing the latest driver does not resolve the issue at all. Same on all of them.
I'm on 1809 build 17763.55 with the Cumulative update.
The Brightness and adaptive settings have gone in the Power Options.

MS moving stuff from the old Control Panel to Settings App, has caused numerous problems. I use my Laptop to a purpose I do not want to waste time as a beta tester of gone wrong features.

The OP has fixed his issue. It is his prerogative to mark the thread solved.
If nothing here helps, then to attract attention to your particular issue, please start a new thread. Solved threads will tend to be ignored.

    See this (odd English) explanation:
Brightness Control Windows 10 Not Working and Missing Fix
and this about the cumulative update:
Solved: Windows 10 brightness not working (cant adjust brightness ) 2018

If you're understandably concerned about the impact of MS upgrades, then don't. I'm still on 1709.
