    Graphics Card Purchasing Help

    Hi all,

I'm looking at getting a new graphics card in a month or so and I have been looking at Nvidia (after years of using Radeon cards), and I have a question or two:

I'm looking at the GTX 1070 (Mid-range is around $595 to $650 where I live) and it seems that it will do all right, but I have also seen a couple of low end GTX 1080's in the $650 to $700 range at Newegg.

My question is: Would the low end 1080 be a better buy than the mid or high end 1070? I'm not an extreme gamer, but I would like to play some of the newer games. I can justify the purchase of the 1080, gaming wise, but would the extra $100 be worth it to get the low end 1080?

My budget is $700 to $750 before taxes

There is no such thing as a low end GTX 1080, just different versions of a 1080, a 1080 will always be a better card than a 1070.

Get the best card you can afford.

These 2 links are for the same 1080, just different vendors, Bestbuy does absolutely nothing to the card.

And you can also get a 1080 from EVGA, PNY, ASUS, MSI Etc.

    EVGA - Products - EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 GAMING, 08G-P4-5184-KR, 8GB GDDR5X, ACX 3.0 - 08G-P4-5184-KR

Also do some research on a 1070 Ti first before you make any purchase.

    EVGA - Products - EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti FTW2 GAMING, 08G-P4-6775-KR, 8GB GDDR5, iCX - 9 Thermal Sensors & RGB LED G/P/M - 08G-P4-6775-KR

I recommend EVGA or going directly through nVidia, MSI also makes a great looking card too.

It`s all about performance (for what you need) looks and price.
