Stop windows from changing my display settings

I am using Portraits Inc HP My Display to set my brightness, contrast , and color ( warm or cool) as recommended by HP Support . The computer is HP Envy Recline 23-k011.

However the settings do not always hold after a shutdown and reboot . It reverts back to 100% brightness and cool mode . Contrast setting remains un affected

    1) After updating the drivers , the setting held for a few days , then reverted to 100% brightness and cool setting.
    2) From HP support Community, I disabled the triggers in Task Manager (\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsColorSystem) that allows Windows to load color Calibration on logon and on connection to user session. This worked for a few days , then reverts back to default 100% brightness and cool settings.

Something is triggering the change. Any ideas what is happening?

Is there some other program I can use besides HP My Display ?

    Tks

    unfortunately no

also the HP Envy Recline 23-k011 does not have any windows 10 specific drivers from the HP support site, which means this specific HP computer is not fully compatible with Windows 10

You don't need the HP My Display application. There are at least two other ways of calibration.
    1) The Windows way.
2a) The Graphics Driver way (Intel)
2b) The Graphics Driver way (Nvidia)
    3) Monitor controls.

2b) and 2b) may or may not be available depending the hardware arrangement. You will have to find out specifics, an AIO may not have so much flexibility.

Whilst HP may only supply Windows 8.1 drivers, Windows updates will install the Windows 10 drivers.

The latest versions of Windows 10 have introduced silly features like Night light settings which messes up any calibration, so OFF for that, and some others which just makes for a confusing array of options.
