Brightness at 50% every reboot after October 2018 Update

My laptop is a Dell Inspiron 14 7447 and I upgraded to the October 2018 Update a few days ago. Thankfully, I didn't have any of the missing files issue but I do have a minor one: the brightness always resets itself to 50% every time I reboot. I tried searching online and a few users have reported this problem, but there is no known fix. Can you guys help me out?

The same problem occurred on a HP notebook.
It was fixed by manually increasing the brightness.

In the left lower corner type: settings and open settings > click on system > view brightness and color > change brightness > manually move the scroll bar to the preferred birghtness

Already tried, no luck, it reverts to 50 after reboot... Moved the slider to 70, it works, but after reboot it reverts back to 50.
Do you know by chance, the registry key that controls that setting so I could try to adjust there??

Install all drivers using the Sony webiste as the source of the drivers.
Only if they are not available use the component manufacturer websites:

Intel® Driver & Support Assistant
NVIDIA
For the Nvidia driver detector use Internet Explorer and Java.


If the above techniques do not fix the display problem then use DDU to uninstall both drivers:
1) uninstall the Nvidia GPU driver using DDU (display driver uninstaller)
2) re-install the Nvidia GPU driver from the Nvidia website
3) make sure that you check the clean install box and if available install the physx driver.

If the above steps work then that will complete the troubleshooting.
If all of the above steps do not fix the display problem consider reverting to Windows 10 1803.

It's not a display driver issue, it's an OS one. My drivers were the same ones before the update and I didn't have that issue.

The windows 10 build 1809 rollout is on hold until the known problems are fixed.

In the left lower corner type: feedback > open feedback hub > report the problems to Microsoft

Many times drivers need to be modified after changes in operating systems.
There are no longer any upgrades from 10 to 11 like there were from 7 to 8 or 8 to 10.
Drivers for each Windows version / build are changed on many computer websites.
If the modifications of drivers do not fix the display then revert the operating system windows 1809 > 1803.
The number of days are limited unless you have a backup image.

Of course it's an OS issue, sometimes after reboot the brightness settings are working, sometimes they're not.
And as zbook suggested, reverting to a previous build is not a solution. By the way, I have upgraded via MCT from build 1709 to 1809. I have not encountered any of the issues, that many users are reporting, on 3 pc's, all upgraded from 1709 to 1809, only this glitch with brightness control.
It was working great with 1709 where I was able to adjust by using control panel, power options and display brightness settings. Since version 1803 MS has decided to remove this option from control panel...

This issue comes and goes but now rarely occurs (I shut down every night). Fix on it's way !

I fixed this issue on my laptop but damn, I can't remember what I did... at least a permanent fix is coming!

I fixed this issue yesterday on a newly formatted HP laptop by resetting all power setting options.
