    Dave
Just out of curiosity, what SSD are you using? Is it a native slotted SSD, am m.2 drive in a slot adapter, or something else altogether?

You will have to put the SSD on one of the SATA ports and the GPU on x16 Pcie slot.
I would expect that to be physically impossible.

What would be the problem? Is it an M.2 SSD? He didn't specify but that will surely be an issue.

He said that the SSD used the PCI-E slot. (Didn't specify the X16 slot, but apparently he didn't realize that the X1 is also PCI-E.) Also, the Compaq Pro 4300 SFF has no m.2 slot. (It's an oldish system, maybe from 2013, with an H61 chipset.)

It's a little unusual to see a PCI-E (not m.2) SSD in a system of that vintage, but it's far from impossible.

I think it's a Pcie adapter. I would understand why an adapter is necessary for an old mobo like that. You can get a pcie adapter for different connectors/ports like USB, eSATA, SATA, m.2 SSD, etc.

Could be. I'm using an Intel 750 drive in my primary system, and it's a PCI-E card (not m.2). In my secondary system, I'm using a Plextor m.2 PCI-E card in a slot adapter. (I originally had it in a system with no m.2 socket, but I'm keeping it in the adapter for its better cooling.) May the OP is using one of the other adapters in a SFF system, but that would border on the weird.

Unexpected. You really need the PCI-E slot for that SSD. You could use an X4 slot if you had one, but you don't.

The only PCI-E 1X card that I found at Newegg was the same as in the Amazon link. Its HDMI port is 1.4a, so it can do 4k, but at 30 Hz max. I don't know whether the (dual link) DVI port supports that; it can do 2560 X 1600 at 60 Hz.

I don't think you're going to get a tolerable 4k graphics card that doesn't need a PCI-E X16 slot. Low profile doesn't help, either. You're really boxed in with that SFF PC.

yes I understand. why don't you think the ZOTAC GeForce GT 710 1GB DDR3 PCIE x 1 DVIHDMI VGA Low Profile Graphic card will be tolerable 4k graphics? What problems do you think ill have? I used the OuterVision® Power Supply Calculator and it's close. And that's only if everything is running at max. I probably can get a splitter to go from 16x to 2- 8x. Then again, I'm limited in space.. LOL

One option you have is to transfer your M.2 SSD to a x1 adapter. In terms of speedtest it will be slower but you won't notice any of it while using the PC.

Something like this but check your SSD specs.
