    Dual Monitor Display

Had dual monitors working. Do know what happened but know can only get 1 monitor at a time to work. Using a StarTechcom DVI-D to VGA Adapter Converter. When 2nd monitor is attached to adapter, adapter attached to pc tower, will not get any options nor will both displays show. When I go into my display settings I do not get the multiple display options. however if I have only one monitor connected, everything works ok. Both monitors are working. Cant figure out what happened. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Where on the PC tower are you making the connection? Does your PC have a separate (aftermarket) GPU installed? How many ports and what kind of ports does your PC have for monitors?

What's the make/model of your PC?

Plankton, thanks for your reply. Here is what I have. I am using a SterTechcom DVI-D to VGA Adapter Converter (Dv12VGAE). It's plugged into the back of the tower to the DVI port. I noticed that when I go to the display information under the advanced display settings,

    "Display 1: connected to AMD Radeon(TM) R4 Graphics: Display 1 isn't active" - "Display 1: connected to AMD Radeon(TM) R4 Graphics: Display 1 isn't active" - "Display 2: connected to AMD Radeon(TM) R4 Graphics

It appears to me that something may be turned off or disconnected

It sounds like your DVI to VGA adapter has died? If you press the Windows Logo key and the P key do you get an Extend option? If yes, what happens if you select it?

Do you have another computer/laptop you can plug the VGA monitor into and test, just to make sure it is working properly?
