    AMD Minimal setup?

I'm running Windows 10 (64 bit) -1803 version on my Lenovo G500 laptop. It has AMD Radeon HD 8570 (2GB) graphics card, Intel integrated HD graphics 4000, i5 processor, 500 GB SATA Hard disk and 8GB DDR3 RAM.*

I recently tried adrenalin 18.2.1 and 18.4.1 on my machine. The installation of both of these got stuck in midway and froze my laptop. I'm searching for suitable drivers.*

What will AMD Minimal Setup39 MBinstaller actually install on my system running?

    1. The latest adrenalin 18.4.1 drivers?

    Or

    2. It will detect compatibility with my Intel onboard graphics and install the most compatible and stable version of the AMD driver?

    Mobile

I'm using this link to download the drivers.*

No I haven't. I suppose it's the same 39 mb filesize AMD Minimal setup I'm talking about.

All of the last few drivers I downloaded from AMD show "Minimal setup" in their name yet install everything.

I suspect that it also downloads the rest (needed) during install, a lot of DL activity during driver installation. The one that doesn't show Minimal setup was downloaded from elsewhere (Major Geeks).

Yeah, it's the same one. IDM gave a notification asking me to overwrite the file or not. The earlier file was downloaded from the link I shared in my original post.

Now the question remains the same. What will this AMD Minimal Setup 39 MB installer actually install on my system?

    1. The latest adrenalin 18.4.1 drivers?

    Or

    2. It will detect compatibility with my Intel onboard graphics and install the most compatible and stable version of the AMD driver?

Moreover, the website mentions 18.4.1 drivers as optional. What does that mean? Are they beta?

Nothing to do with Intel drivers, it's only for AMD GPUs.

Of course they're only for AMD GPUs, what I am asking is:

What will this AMD Minimal Setup 39 MB installer actually install on my system?

    Or

    2. It will detect compatibility with my Intel onboard graphics and install the most compatible and stable version of the AMD driver? Installation of Intel graphics driver is crucial before installation of AMD GPU drivers. I already know the method of downloading the updated intel drivers automatically from their website using their Intel Driver and Support assistant software.

Moreover, the AMD website mentions 18.4.1 drivers as optional. What does that mean? Are they beta?

    1. If that's the one you chose, that will be installed.
    2. Not sure about detecting Intel GPU, most probably it would ignore it.

Okay, then I think that there's no point in trying this minimal installer I suppose? Now which AMD driver should I go for? 18.2.1 or 18.4.1?

Yesterday I updated my intel graphics drivers using using their Intel Driver and Support assistant software which I downloaded from Intel website. I updated my BIOS also by downloading the latest one from Lenovo's official page listing drivers for my G500 model laptop.

18.4.1 was making me problems, most of minor updates (in this case .1) are just some fixes for some games, otherwise not anything new in same driver. Here you can see particular about specific installed driver:
