    can't adjust brightness in W10-1803

This appears to be an ongoing problem with Windows. There are some old threads (2012) about similar problems but none of the fixes apply.

I upgraded to 1803 and I can't adjust the brightness. It is at max. The function keys displays a slider and it goes up/down. There are sliders in the power option screen, but nothing changes the brightness.
If I load Linux, the brightness works fine so it isn't a H/W problem.
I loaded W7 and W10-1709 and the problem is still there.

The driver is up to date (albeit 11-26-2012 ver 8.15.10.2900)- according to Windows and Intel says there is no update. (HP Pavilion dv6, Intel graphics, i3-330)

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver. I have clean installed 1803 three times and let it update.

I also have an HP 8540 i7 dual graphics with 1803 and I get no response from that brightness function either - but I have not worked on that one yet.

A lot about the graphics card/adapter but nothing about the monitor. Does it have a Menu button where you can make changes on the monitor itself?

EDIT: Disregard, looked at your Computer Specs and saw Desktop, hadn't noticed you have the problem with a Notebook.

I have a dv6 with the Core i5 CPU, no problems.
