    1) Please take a look in the Windows update history and see what has been installed since it started acting up again, particularly in the driver section at the bottom of list.

Last "Quality Updates": 2018-05 Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64-based Systems (KB4134661)
    Successfully installed on 2018-05-17

    2018-05 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64-based Systems (KB4103727)

    Last "Driver update": IntelCorporation - SoftwareComponent - 3/12/2018 12:00:00 AM -

    2) The BIOS could be the issue. I'm not sure either when they say critical, could be all machines are impacted.
If only a percentage then maybe it's not critical. You've done BIOS updates before so you understand risks.
Again I would not install if dated 2018 without a lot of research.

I actually didn't do the BIOS update last time. From what I recall it happened automatically.

    3) What version and build on you on again? Windows key + R, type winver, enter.

Microsoft Windows Version 1709 (OS Build 16299.431)

    4) Do you have a lot of software or a lot of customizations in packages you are running?

I don't have a lot of software. The demanding applications I run often are Ableton Live 9 and League of Legends. I'm not quite sure what customizations in packages are?

    5) Can you make this device freeze on demand?

I cannot make it freeze on demand. There is a general trend with having applications open and/or a lot of Firefox tabs open at once (eg. youtube videos, facebook). The other trend is upon startup. If I power on my machine, login, then leave the room, sometimes it will be frozen. However, I believe if I move the mouse after logging in a little bit, it doesn't freeze?

    1) So last driver was back in March. Nothing recent and you said it started to behave normally then went south again.

    2) BIOS, interesting it would do it automatically then and not now.

    3) Since you are 1709 I wouldn't recommend the in place repair / upgrade as it will upgrade you unless you have 1709 Boot media that you could use. As the tutorial is written it suggest using Media Creation tool if you don't have media and this will download V1803.

    4) If you don't have a lot of software you could consider a clean install but again unless you have bootable media the Media Creation tool will currently install 1803.

Past version of Windows 10 are available here.

This site appears to ask permission to mine currency on your machine, instead of ads, I just said No to their ask. If you got 1709 from here you could try the inplace repair.

    5) Hoping that you could get a lead on cause if you knew how to create at will.

I think best option is get 1709 and do an inplace repair.

Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade

Backup your personal data as a precautionary move.

I will be offline for an extended period of time. If I don't respond you may wish to start a new post and provide detail you have provided me, unless another member picks up on the thread.
