Asus R9 290X underclocked??
Graphics Processor Properties
Video Adapter Asus R9280 Series
GPU Code Name Tahiti Pro (PCI Express 3.0 x16 1002 / 679A, Rev 00)
GPU Clock 300 MHz (original: 980 MHz)
Memory Clock 150 MHz (original: 1300 MHz)
Should my GPU be so underclocked like this? It says as above the GPU clock is "300 MHz, ORIGINAL: 980 MHz"...so I'm confused. AIDA64 tells me the above clock and memory clock in the bold quote.

If the GPU aren't doing anything then the card will put itself in lower power states (performance tiers), that's completely normal. If it's pegged at 300Mhz constantly - while playing games, rendering etc - then something is wrong somewhere.

Agreed. If you were to check the properties while gaming, you would find the card would likely be at 980 MHz as advertised. My R9 280 goes between 300 MHz and 1050 MHz constantly while under use. As Faith said, it's perfectly normal.
