    intel graphics & 'hardware acceleration' in chrome


    1. any reliable data on how good i5 2410m is?

    2. and any evidence for what 'gpu acceleration' in chrome helps with? if not, ill turn it off

    That processor is a mobile processor and is quite old. Not reliable for today's standpoint.

    It's used for using a graphics card to process video. I'd keep it on.

    It is not just for video decoding.

    If you go to chrome://gpu you can see what is being accelerated.

    • Rasterization: Hardware accelerated
    • Video Decode: Hardware accelerated
    • WebGL: Hardware accelerated
    • WebGL2: Hardware accelerated
