AMD Ryzen 3 1200 no graphics

Replacing Mobo in my Corsair tower with Asus Prime B350 Plus. Also new CPU, AMD Ryzen 3 1200. + new DDR 4 Memory.
Everything fit and when I turned it on, whoa, no graphics.
After spending a day and a half knocking myself out, found out that that CPU has no graphics support and I don't have a video card.
Also am not a gamer.
1. Am I right in my reading assumption that this setup does need a graphics card?
2. Will the new Ryzens suit my needs. Not a gamer.
Price looks much cheaper then a video card.

$99 or $169 at Newegg.

You are correct that the Ryzen 3 1200 (or any 1st gen Ryzen for that matter) doesn't have an integrated GPU/APU. The video ports on the motherboards are there for the next gen Ryzen of which the R3 2200G is part of.

If you can return the 1200 and get the 2200G, then yes it will be much cheaper than keeping the 1200 and getting a video card.
