Miracast no longer working LG OLED

I havent used miracast in a while, last time was 6 mths ago, i just tried connecting and it would not display

Giving me a could not connect error, so i removed the tv and when back to the device connection, it does locate the TV but eventually says could not connect

I just tried using on my android phone and it works, so its not a TV issue

I checked windows and i have all the latest drivers

    Some LG-specific screenshare/miracast tips here...

I've spent the past 2 months trying to get this unreliable feature to work. Excuse the long post, I hope this will help those who don't want an hdmi wire inbetween their computer and tv to view streaming live tv or desktop from their computer...

Neither my TV or laptop support Miracast, so I can't help further. I just use DLNA to 'Cast to...' my video files.

I had the same problem with by 2018 LG TV. I also looked at the 2016 guide. Some problems have been addressed, but some have not. The key for me was to NOT connect my TV to the internet via Wifi.
Since I use my NAS as a DLNA server and I HATE adding cables, I just ended up buying the MS Wireless Display Adapter and sticking it into an open HDMI port.
If you're OK with an extra LAN cable, then that'll solve it for you as well.
