Sr. Citizen Quest, Please. Dell Update Hung Everything. OnlySafe Mode

    Hello,

Sr. Citizen now, very, and frankly not too sharp with this "stuff" anymore.

I received an icon that showed on the bottom bar of my desktop, presumably from Dell (it said Dell),
that there was an update to install. So, I clicked on it. Ran about 10 minutes, and then hung up.
Now, I can't get back to my normal operations.

PC only works in Safe Mode. Thank goodness for that.

Was able to get to a bunch of screens with all sorts of repair and start up options, but nothing seems to work.

So, if anyone could help me out with a few (very detailed, please), I would be most grateful and
    appreciative. I'm out of ideas.

Is there a "direct" means of going from Safe Mode to the normal operations ?
Or, is it obvious, that something got corrupted, somehow, and that must be repaired first ?
    Or,...?

Even tried that holding the ON button depressed for a long time after unplugging and re-plugging the line cord. No luck.

I seem to remember from years ago playing with msconfig. Would that help me out now ?

What should I try, please ? More than one, if you can think of a bunch to try would be great.

    Much thanks,
    Bob

Are you able to find the System Restore option in the repair options? I’m talking about the option that lets you restore to an earlier point (before dell update) and not the factory restore option, which would destroy your data.

What is the model of your dell pc?
