Thank you for this.:)Apparently it was the high cost of the MPEG-2 licences that led to the removal of the ability to play DVDs. I knew this was coming so before the 2015 launch of Windows 10 I installed VLC on my Win7 laptop. As it happens, for a limited time (as a sop to those of us upgrading from a Media edition of Windows 7) Microsoft issued a free install of their DVD Player app through windows update. So I have two ways I can play DVDs in Windows 10.
