    Windows 10 or not

I have gone through the process over the last 3 years of upgrading my Windows 8 to 8.1 to Win.10. After giving this an honest try I uninstalled Win. 10 and installed Win. 7 Ultimate. I realize that after 2020 Win.7 will no longer be supported but I will keep using it as long as possible. At which time, I am still trying to decide which way to go. I am relatively proficient with Linux and have 2 machines dual booted with Debian 8, but Linux in general is a non starter for me, due to the lack of commercial grade
software available, yes I know there's a lot of open source stuff out there, but other than Libreoffice I haven't found anything very useful. I have Win. 10 Pro on one machine and it's better than the Home edition.
Once Windows 7 is no longer viable, I really don't see much future for me with Microsoft. But I'd like to hear some input from
    Windows users on this topic.

By that time, Windows 11 will be out.

Still enjoying Ten and the large amount of new features that were introduced since May 2015.

Horses for courses -- Win 7 is a comfort zone admittedly, btw for everyday stuff there are lots of Linux apps -- but that's besides the point. What in Win 10 do you not like?

Thanks for the replies. Some of the things I don't like about Windows 10, for starters the basic Home edition does not have a lot of features,
The Pro Edition is much better, but of course not offered as a free upgrade from 8.1. So if you want the features you have to come up with the
$$. Windows 10 comes without some very basic software such as a DVD player, but for some more $$, you can solve that.
Some of the very basic functions that I use such as sharing files between my machines, works very well with homegroup and networking my
machines together except I cannot share files from Win 7 to 10, it only works sharing between 2 machines both running 7, although my Win 7
machines will bring the files from the Win 10 machine, it won't work vice versa. Since I only use Win !0 as a backup machine this is an annoyance.

Plenty of information available about networking/sharing 7 <>10 if
you take the time to look. I use a usb stick to move files only because three of my machines use wifi.
There for a time I used to go through network setup on newsgroups with other people and finally gave
up because many wanted to be spoon fed.

Stick with 7 if you enjoy it, I sure do.

I installed 7 and 10 on my new X299, made images of both and I`m running 7

    7 still Rocks

Of course PRO 10 was offered as a free upgrade from 8.1 IF you had 8.1 PRO. It is an entirely unreasonable expectation to upgrade from 8.1 core to 10 PRO!

Re. networking - you have not set it up correctly.

I love w10. But I must admit you must set it up properly for it to feel comfortable. Aftet that, everything is a breeze.
I remember to have suffered a lot of issues with w7 superfetch implementation. w10 has got a smaller kernel/memory footprint etc.
