If you want safe storage, invest into a good NAS. I have a Synology DS216+2 with two 1TB Enterprise drives in it, along with a 3TB external drive from Fantom, that is connected to my NAS with eSATA. We keep a copy of our stuff in a Family iCloud account, just so we have redundant backup. Some minor things are in Google's Drive space also.

The sad thing is that Microsoft does not care about the consumers anymore. It is Enterprise and Government that they will bend over backwards to appease.
That may be true, but the direction they’re taking their OS doesn’t indicate that. Windows 7 looks like a no-fluff, made for work OS whereas 8-10 look like they’re trying to shoehorn a mobile phone OS on a desktop PC.

That would be because some changes were made to to Onedrive that includes that folder. You just have to go to your Microsoft Live account and then you can pull them back from the Cloud account.
I have good back-up without the cloud. I tried to call microsoft and they defaulted me to email every time...........not!

I will take a desktop any day over a dinky little phone screen. Fine if you must use it though...........

There is actually a lot that you can get done while on the go and having it on your Smartphone or in the cloud. I do scans from our Laser All-in-one, send through My Fax, check emails, etc. I do not try to type out a document, spreadsheet, etc.. The majority is just browsing Facebook and even jumping on here and the Raspberry Pi forum.

The fact that Microsoft went to the use it as a tablet perspective, is not what you are seeing done with their overpriced Surface door stop. You see them using it like a imac. Even Apple is not ready for a Kiosk LCD screen, since it actually wears down the surface when you move your finger around the screen, unless you use some kind of protective glass cover.

7 was always intended to be used in the Enterprise when XP was to be retired. Sales & Marketing for Microsoft got it wrong again. 8 was intended for the education or kiosk markets, with 10 being a cross-platform OS, that they would package two different GUI's for two different marketing.

If anything Microsoft got wrong, was the number of users that stayed with their original OS, as everyone did when XP and 7 were introduced to the market.

Apple and Linux are laughing at Microsoft at this point. Microsoft abandoned the Band, Apple and other smartwatch manufacturers are seeing strong sales, especially for those like myself that needs a fall alert, but owning the Apple Watch 3, allows me to not depend on a faulty pendant that goes off if it bumps anything. Microsoft abandoned the Zune and balked when Apple came out with their iPod and has continued to blow the electronic markets.
