I Can't add Shortcut To Desktop

    Hi all,..

I've downloaded Steam onto a new separate SSD ('D' Drive) that's been formatted to GPT NFTS. Steam wanted to place a Shortcut on the Desktop 'C' drive which I was happy about. However, I think permission has been denied. A pop-up message appears saying:,..

Controlled Folder Access Blocked C:/Windows/explorer.exe from making changes to the folder C:/Users/Username/Desktop.

Message goes on to say,..'Maybe the disk is full'. Well it isn't.

I tried manually to create the shortcut by right clicking on the Steam icon application.exe and sending to desktop as a shortcut but still the same above message.

Is this a Firewall job? How do I clear this and for future things like this ?

Now this is strange. I just signed out of my Microsoft Administrator account and into my Local Admin account and just tried to make the shortcut. It worked.

Anybody know why I got the message (see original post above), trying to do this whilst in Microsoft Admin account?
