Windows 10 Pro 64-bit Explorer.exe random crashes
So here's the deal, I recently upgraded to Windows 10 Pro 64-bit from Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. I had been having a random issue in Windows 7 for years where explorer.exe would randomly crash and relaunch. I eventually gave up after trying anything and everything. System file checker, systematically removing installed programs, ran memtest86, even replacing some hardware at points. (Over the 5+ years since building the PC I have upgraded components, so the only original components since I originally built the machine and had the issue is the RAM, Mobo, CPU and PSU). I turned on crash dumps and tried analyzing those but nothing pointed to the issue. Nothing I tried seemed to stop the issue. So I lived with it begrudgingly.
After upgrading to Windows 10, it is STILL happening and it seems more frequent than before. Explorer will just shut down and relaunch. It usually happens when I am browsing through the file explorer but other than that I can't tell any pattern. I have turned on crash dumps and have attached 6 to this post (Crash has probably happened between 10-20 times total since installing Windows 10). There is a common theme through the dumps, it's always crashing withat the top of the stack but I'm not sure where to go with that. I'm not inclined to think this is a hardware issue as I would suspect a hardware issue (like bad RAM) would be a bit more random and cause other applications than explorer.exe to crash as well, but nothing other than explorer.exe has crashed. I really want to get to the bottom of it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!Code:user32!UserCallWinProcCheckWow
