Hi Ed,
As of this morning, everything is working properly. I think my problems may officially be solved!
A couple of questions to pick your brain as I aim to better understand a few things. When you say "motherboard leads", are you referring to the pointy things (for lack of a better description) on the back of the board? What are these exactly? Are they soldered points? And if so, what has been soldered here?
Additionally, what exactly is the purpose of the stand offs? Do they just help elevate the board from the case so that these mobo leads don't make contact with the metal case shell? I would assume this would be the purpose because if the mobo leads are soldered then I would guess they would carry electrical charge and touching the case could cause a short? Is this correct?
BTW, we apparently live only about two hours from each other if you are located in Round Rock. Small world!
