Battery Indicator Gone This Solution Fixed Issue

    fireplayer said:
I tried that - no change.

I also tried uninstalling them both - and then reinstalling using Scan for hardware changes.
    No luck there either...

    But thanks for the suggestions.
Thanks for the info. This fixed my problem!

All that you need to do to make the battery indicator show up is you go down to the task bar and right click the bottom. You click on task manager and go to where Windows explorer is and end the task by right clicking it. Once it is ended go up to file in the top right corner and click start task and put explorer.exe and hit enter. This should make your battery indicator show up.

This was such an easy fix this worked 100% for me :) on Wednesday 20th April 2016

The version of windows this worked on is as follows...
    Windows 10 Professional 64bit
Version 1511 (OS Build 10586.218) (got this info by hitting win key + R then typing winver and hitting enter)

All I did was start Task Manager, find Windows Explorer in the "Process" tab (first one). Then I right-clicked on it and selected "Restart". That did it.

that may sound like an obvious answer but i have had the same problem and i did something so easy which fixed it. i just restarted the Windows Explorer process in task manager. that's all
    This works!
Also, if you accidentally end Windows Explorer, not restart it, getting it back is easy. Go to "New Task" and type in Explorer.exe and it should come back.

Go to device manager disable both 'Microsoft AC Adapter' and 'Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery'
    Then Re-Enable them again.

Quick Fix: Right click on the taskbar and go to the task manager. Locate "Windows Explorer" and click on RESTART button at the bottom. DONE! Hope this helps.:)

As stated in title - no battery icon when not plugged in - and no battery/power icon when plugged in - also no locations icon. I do not care much about the locations one, but the battery one is pretty much vital.

    Attachment 26686

Going into "Turn system icons on / off" - both Power & Location are greyed out - and can not be activated.

    Attachment 26687

Any ideas / suggestions? - I have tried all the regular Windows 7 / 8 fixes - but no luck. I DO have a battery icon in the logon screen - but that is it. I have had this issue since I first downloaded the first preview builds.

This is my machine stats according to System info:
    Worked just fine for me.

hey my gf had the same the problem with her laptop so I mess around with it and fixed it, hope it helps! windows 10 is awesome btw lol

    1. Go to start and type in gpedit.msc and press enter.

2.Navigate to expand User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Start Menu and Taskbar and disable "Remove the battery meter".

    3. restart
I tried so many things to get my battery icon back (power option was greyed out) and this one FINALLY worked for me.

    Thank you for sharing!!!!!
