    start menu

Hi. The start menu will not go into full screen. I had to restore my laptop(Acer Aspire E17 ) and I brought a third party app, which messed everything up. I installed Windows 10 again, but the start menu is looking a tad funny. Do I have a corrupt registry? I tried the button in settings, but that does not help. Any help will be appreciated. deanie44

You mean Tablet mode. If your registry was corrupt, you would not even be able to log in. Most likely it is now set for Desktop mode for the Start menu. What third party app did you purchase?

Windows 10 allows you to have a full-screen Start Menu. To use a full screen Start Menu when on the desktop, type Settings in the taskbar search and click on Settings.

Click on Personalization and then on Start. You will see the following window.
Here under Start behaviors, select Use full-screen Start when in the Desktop.
That is all you need to do!

Now click on your Start Button, and see your Start Menu cover your full screen.

Acronis has zero to do with the registry or start menu. Tablet mode is on all installs of Windows 10. It gives you the larger activity boxes for app's, compared to the Desktop mode gives you an alphabetical listing of shortcuts in the stat menu.

bro67, thank you. It is fixed. I was signing in with a local account. Signing in with a Microsoft Account fixed it. Thank you. deanie44
