    Hi @Brink

    Again thanks for another fantastic tutorial from you, its nice to know that i was correct to think Automatic Maintenance feature is responsible for deleting thumbnail cache which i point out at my post #3. Good to know there is a way to disable the thumbnail cache deletion without disabling the Automatic Maintenance feature.

    I only did the top one on my machine and the solution still works so not sure if the Wow64node one is necessary

    KCR,

    That's correct. The .reg files change the Autorun DWORD value to 0 to turn it off.

    When you have 64-bit, you usually need to make the change at WOW6432Node as well to fully apply it.

    frustratingly the fix needs to applied again after the 1803 feature update. Still baffled MS thinks this should happen by default!
