Well, W7 is not "crippled" on modern HW, works just (or almost) fine on my most modern computer. But.... in my case it's in very simplified shape, just enough to run games. Except that hasn't had any updates short of drivers (same ones as on W10) since Sp1. Having it in multiboot with W10 on this same machine gives me possibility to directly compare both OSs.
W10 on the other hand has many advantages over it and hence it's used as main OS (also have Linux Mint) so another comparison can be made. There's even more, also run W10 on another PC and it's insider version, no problems worth speaking about on it either. This, main PC is right now with FCU but it's awaiting next insider version.
Yes, there are some minor problems and bugs but they are mostly fixed with next update.
In my very long experience with computer which include many ore than just PCs, I haven't seen an OS with which so many changes and customizing could be done but even those have some limits. It's my firm belief that most problems come with users meddling too much with OS operation, skipping updates for OS and drivers and also not taking care of their HW.
