Fall Creators Update Bug - Slows Windows and Apps

Update went flawlessly. But now many programs open more slowly (5 to 10 seconds vs. 1 second). When they open, you can't click on the menu for 5-10 seconds. Happens in many apps like UltraEdit, Nitro Pro, Paint Shop Pro, etc. Some other apps work fine (e.g, Firefox, IE, etc.) . And this is with my fast gaming rig 6700K with an SSD. There is something in the Fall Creators update that is causing some programs to start slowly and in some cases run slowly. I restored my Macrium Reflect backup Image. This is nonsense Microsoft. I will never install another OS update until it reaches Current Branch for Business (now called Semi-Annual Channel for some stupid reason) - about 3 months from now ( Windows 10 release information - current branch, build history ).

What happened with resolving the issues before the update got pushed out? Only those who do tweaks and such are seeing major issues.

Windows is becoming a toaster. It's sad.

I have not had any issues with the Clean install that I did on my test rig. I stopped tweaking with it when I installed CU on it and Symantec Cloud Enterprise edition. Everyone is going to see different issues when they are setting the systems up for how they want it to work for them.

I have no interest in clean installs because of the time necessary to reinstall all my apps and games and reconfigure customizations. No one should be expected to do that biannually. These updates are beta quality until they reach Current Branch for Business.

Anything with 10 is going to be beta. The Clean install is always good to have on a drive that you can swap out when you are trying to figure out if it is the machine itself or something out there from the changes that are creating the headache. I do have a swap bay on one machine that if I do get around to bringing that one online, it will work for mirror cloning if I decide to isolate off of the network for testing.

At least with FCU and Pro, you can now set for the two branches that they have renamed and defer for the two other levels.
