when I installed 8.1 I hated it, but after an hour began to realise it was much better. Some people dont like change.

I have only recently had installed a brand new version of my forum software, the members AGH!! OH NO!! - but they are now getting to grips with it, and its much better.

Other than a major problem, with runtime broker process yesterday that just vanished windows 10 is a million times better than 8.1. I may actually use teh modern apps more since i don't have to drag them to bottom of the screen to close them and they open in desktop windows and no charms bar

I thought this with W8 and 7. I wondered if I'd made a mistake. But I persevered and stuck with 8.1 and made it my own - despite the negative press it got. Mind you, getting it for £14.99 from MS also helped....

How do you make a decision that will effect you for years in less than a full day?

When Win 8.1 was first launched, I had people literally tell me they tried it for ten minutes at a BestBuy demo and that they would never touch it again. Seems this is an issue with the people not the OS.

I've been using Win10 since the first preview days and with all of that playing/testing I've adjusted and just fell in love with it.. Like anything it takes time to adjust to this new OS
Win 7 is/was a great OS. That said, while I never installed Win 10 TP and became an Insider, leaving that to the guinea pigs, er should I say bunny wabbits, I installed Win 10 just yesterday and know that its a keeper so I can say Win 7 was a great OS.

I'm thinking of going back to Windows 8.1 as well. If you roll back using Brinks tutorial, any chance of posting here if you encountered any problems?
OK, back on Windows 8.1 now. It was pretty straight forward, just followed Brinks tutorial and it literally took 5-10 minutes. The 'Upgrade to Windows 10' Windows Update banner and $Windows.~BT folder are still there where they were, but I'll sort them out tomorrow. Other than that, just a temporary 'Bitlocker is Suspended' message, which Windows resumed by itself after re-installing Win 8.

Unfortunately, my computer's a tool that's in use all the time and as such I need it to not only be reliable, but to do what I need it to. The tipping point was that the reduced functionality of the Windows 10 Mail App made it unusable for me and there was nothing I could do about it. Due to it being a Store app, as opposed to a normal Win32 application, I couldn't even just install an older version of it.

So , the main reason for going back wasn't due to needing to get used to Windows 10, but was due to the inability to change Email Aliases. However, other problems with the Mail App that I also didn't like were:

    - It's not possible to turn on 'Show Newsletters Separately', which allows mailing list emails to be sent directly to the Newsletters folder.

    - It's not possible to create and rename folders in the Windows 10 Mail App.

    - It's not possible to 'select all' emails in any way, whether by CTRL + A keyboard shortcut, shift-clicking the top and bottom emails to select all emails in-between or by using a 'select all' checkbox. They have to be selected individually.

    - You can’t turn off conversation view.

Microsoft Edge and the Photos app were both also severely lacking in functionality, but they weren’t the reason for uninstalling Windows 10, as it was still possible to just use Internet Explorer and Windows Photo Viewer instead. Whereas I had no choice with the Windows 10 Mail app.

Don't worry, I'm only one person out of millions, I doubt me uninstalling Windows 10 will bankrupt Microsoft and there are still lots of other people here with Windows 10 installed. :)

my sound card will not work, AMD video card will not work properly, I don't like the new Explorer. I like the one so I can have my goggle bookmarks, overall it's nice but the interface is just awful.

Hey I love Windows 8.1 I'm using it right now.

I'm loving Windows 10. I'm coming from Windows 7, since I didn't like 8 at all when I gave it a shot back in late betas, etc. It was too geared toward a touch experience.

I use Outlook for my ISP provided email. I use the Mail app for my Live account email.

go back to 8.1 omg never I either stay with 10 or go back to my 7. I loaded 10 on my laptop leaving my desktop at 7 for know as its my baby and it works perfect. that old saying if it aint broke dont fix it. But I'm giving 10 the old chance on my laptop and I have to say not to bad like it better then the priview builds although alot of crap i had to turn off and remove. i havent even installed classic shell like i did on the preview build giving the new menu more of a chance which seems better on the release. just seems to run slow vs my 7 and wish there was more of a black theme like 7 i'm not digging the white or the windows hero login hopefully a way to change that will come along.
