Fall Upgrade went smoothly for me too, before downloading I always disable Norton firewall & anti virus, exit MBAM & unplug all my USB devices incl hard drives.

I installed Fall Creators from window update on 3 different laptops and all went very smoothly. No problems. Easiest single update for me yet. I like the update. The OS for me seems a little snappier now and I like the way notifications look and behave now in action center. I like the functionality added to the calculator. I was not going to update for a while since Creators 1 did not go nearly as well but I was offered it in WU right away and was bored so I gave it a whirl and it went fine. I think with further feature updates as I did this time I will only take them from windows update.
I totally agree. Update was easy and working flawlessly. I updated two laptops and one desktop and not a single issue with any of them.

There's no such thing as a random bug or bsod (see my signature)
    Cosmic rays are pretty random.

It's been my experience that issues that are the result of an upgrade to a new build, are often fixed ( no such issue) with a clean install on that same hardware. IMHO it is the best case scenario for an issue free install. Especially if your into "tweaking" your install to turn off or remove something with third party tools. Other things like third party Antivirus etc can cause a failed upgrade.

Also keep in mind people with issues are quick to post on forums, while those with no issues, not so much. Results will be lopsided towards issues. It can appear a lot worse than it really is.

If that is any consolation, once you upgrade to Fall, those problems should be gone.

WU in Fall is perfect. Checking for updates takes ~5 secs, download and installation are super fast too.

WU is also no longer dependent on Windows Firewall and WinHttpAutoProxySvc, that was crazy anyway.

I built three virtual machines today using the FCU as a clean install, and all went very well. Not a single issue during the install or the later software installations. Any software can have an issue, but people need to understand that just because an issue arises, doesn't always mean it is the OS's fault.

I'm not surprised to see many problems on the forum as usual after a major Windows 10 update. I don't know whether the problems are due to poor MS software engineering or poorly maintained PCs which only display obvious problems on major upgrades.

I'm continuing my policy of deferring updates on my W10 Pro PCs for 6 months and only updating my W10 Home laptop when the upgrade is offered through Windows Update ( I only got the Creator's Upgrade last week).
Actually, I would say the volume if problems is, if anything, lower than previous builds. We saw loads of issues from the Windows 7 to 10 upgrades.

I rather disagree with your upgrade policy - experience has taught regulars here that manually upgrading using the iso is the most reliable way of upgrading.

Most of the issues reported so far are relatively minor so far. Sure waiting a few weeks may be advisable, but if you make an image backup first, you can safely upgrade and try it.

It's the way to go, especially if your upgrading more than one PC. Download once use many times.

I down loaded the Media Creation Tool and made a ISO. I then used the ISO to upgrade my Dell XPS 8700 Desktop. Installed with no problems. Went quick and easy. The upgrade only un-installed one third party program, which was Winaero Solitaire. One other little problem is I have 3 Cruzer Glide flash drives and CFU absolutely refuses to recognize one of them. No big problem there as it works fine on my HP Notebook with an older version of Windows 10. In Device Manager it shows Unknown USB (Device Descriptor Request Failed). Just throwing in my ½ cent.

I have a Cruzer Switch and it also refused to install Windows, so I bought an 8Gb Transcend stick which operates perfectly.
