Well, I have a old habit of close every thing down, I have open up during the session, so that will fix it for me.

This should definitely be a user choice!

If we want that function we use hibernation!
    Exactly!

Both of my computers and my friend's computer do this. This is a potentially huge privacy risk especially if you deal with confidential documents. Does common sense not occur to Microsoft or anything? Who was it that was mentally deficient enough to allow this feature to make it into Windows?

If a W10 PC has some dodgy software that causes a Shutdown, won't this lead to endless Shutdown loops?

Hypothetically: "My PC shuts down, I restart it, it shuts down, I restart it, etc.".

I suppose that the end result is the same as a BSOD caused by a dodgy driver.

Try booting to Safe Mode. If you can, that might show it's dodgy software.

A switch to turn it off would be nice. Even Apple allows that :)
