i really wish micro would stop using the word update when every 6 months it 's a full-blown iso replacement. with that said when they do these "updates" it's advised to do a clean install.

No problems here either and now on 17025.1000. And I only use Defender.
Hi, I've same problem and I've found 2 ways, how to "repair" it. But it must be done after every reboot.
- if it happen, just press Ctrl+Alt+Del, select logout user, confirm close blocking TaskHostWindow Windows message and after new login everything works OK.
- Later I've found, that problem is with service named WpnUserService_????? (????? is some numbers, which changes after reboot). If I kill this service, start menu immediately works OK. I've made small program, which find service named WpnUserService_*, kill it and then start service again. If problem happen, I'm just start this program and it works OK.
Hope it helps someone.
I'm using Comodo IS. If Comodo NOT installed, it happen rarely (1 from 30 reboots), if Comodo installed, it happen every second reboot.
Hope someone find better solution!
Using winver 1709 16299.64
This sounds exactly like the problem I posted ie > Taskbar Items Not Working?
I had a critical windows update which was probably the CU update. Also I had downloaded Malwarebytes Ver 3.0 at same time. Then My task bar was non-operational. Had to do a system restore to go back to a few days earlier. Working ok for now.

Weird! Strange too. I've updated to the Creator's Fall Update on three computers & have had zero problems. Why is it always me that is left out of the problems like this. The only thing I can whine about is the Windows.old Folder is still there but only with a massive 76 kb's. Plus, when I updated on the three machines, I had & have Norton Security on each with none of them deactivated. Sometimes it has me thinking some have been hacked by Klingon's or someone similar.
