I may have to fire up the Dell Core 2 Duo I have to see if it causes issues. I have not seen any issues with the Lenovo. Most times it is the Graphics Driver that Microsoft has written the code for that does not trigger the monitor to wake up from the IRQ that gets sent a signal from the CPU waking up from S3 state, which is part of the Sleep state. A lot of times also it is the monitor not set to only go to sleep when the computer tells it to, instead of using its own internal clock if an external monitor.

Make a backup of your system just in case. Sometimes just looking in the monitor settings can help to see if that is the problem. Depending on your monitor, depends on how to check the menu settings. That could just be the fix if it still acts up.

This is the latest Bios update from January this year. There are other updates that are as of this month. "Version: 3.4.1"

Same problem here. I actually have two Dell Inspirion 3650, and both of them started having this problem on the same day. I believe this issue is related to a Windows update that occurred on 10/10/17, because the day after the update the problem appeared on both of my machines. Am now looking into above suggestions...

Dells have always had issues with Windows in their extra Power Management software. The suggestion is to make sure your monitor does not also have some form of Sleep state turned on, Hybrid sleep is not enabled on your computer, Hibernate is disabled and that you shut down the machine at the end of the day instead of placing it into sleep. With that, use a UPS that allows the computer to monitor and put to shut down when the computer senses that the UPS is on battery power. Make backups of your data or keep on a storage device, with a secondary storage secured on a cloud drive.

Did you check the power settings, since FCU changes them.
