Problem With Waking Up From Sleep Mode

Hello all. I have a Dell Inspiron 3650 which runs Windows 10. It was working perfectly fine for 1 year, but over the last few days, when I put it in sleep mode and press a key/move my mouse it won't wake up. Normally (back when it worked), when it was in sleep mode and I pressed a key I'd hear the fan whir and the computer would turn on. However, now when I press a key while it's in sleep mode, the fan whirs but the screen remains black. I have no idea what to do and most of what I found on the internet is either outdated or does not work. Please help.

By the way, I did try the "fix" of turning off hibernate in command prompt and it didn't solve the problem.
I also tried troubleshooting "Power", again it was useless. I also tried the fix where I go in device manager and change wake up settings for USB and HDI, useless and I don't think this is the problem because when I press a key in sleep mode there is SOME reaction from the computer (fans whir).

What version are you running? Run winver and it will tell you.

I upgraded recently to build 16299.15 and have started having this issue (not always but sometimes) and I have to hard power off and reboot.

    Not found a solution yet.

Check the bios settings to make sure that S1 & S3 states are set, if it gives that option under Power. There should be a task listed also and the services for the IRQ trigger should be running.

Your power management settings can be off, especially that OEM’s like Dell use their own TSR for power.

I'm sorry, I'm going to be honest but I don't understand what any of those terms mean.
Also this is super weird because up until like a week ago everything worked completely fine.

I am having the same problem also. Got computer last year. Worked flawlessly until last week and now won't wake from sleep mode. I assume some update occurred recently that has caused this. Can't seem to find the fix. Pulling my hair out!

Is it a desktop? If so, I just had the same problem with my grandmother's PC. I believe hers is the same model as yours. I went to Dell and clicked for it to automatically detect what drivers I needed for the PC that were updated. It found a BIOS update and a Chipset driver update. Try going to Dell.com, and put in your computer's information and see if it detects any out of date drivers. Once I updated the BIOS and chipset to the latest, the sleep issue went away.

I have this issue as well, I am hoping that it will be fixed next Tuesday. If not I will stay on the CU.
