There can be multiple causes for the 0x80070057 error

After finding an explanation in English the explanation often needs to be decoded:

0x80070057 -2147024809 ERROR_INVALID_PARAMENTER - E_INVALIDARG One or more arguments are not valid error - Invalid proxy server name was specified in the userís IE settings and hence WinhttpSetProxySettings call fails with E_INVALIDARG error. BITS puts the job in TRANSIENT_ERROR with the same error code. For ex, if the proxy server is set to http://foo/bar/proxy.pac, this error will be seen. This error is also seen when credentials are supplied such that scheme is not NTLM/Negotiate, but username/password is NULL, since that is not valid (WinhttpSetCredentials fails with E_INVALIDARG. BITS 1.5 puts the job into ERROR state with BG_E_INVALID_RESPONSE in the above 2 cases, because of error code mapping E_INVALIDARG is always mapped to (BG_E_INVALID_SERVER_RESPONSE)

Was the windows installation an upgrade during the free period from windows 7 or 8 to windows 10?

As in the above link you may need to delete partitions > make an unallocated drive > reinstall windows 10.

This will be trial and error.
    1) Make sure that you are not on a metered internet connection.
    2) Try windows updates again
    3) If that fails check the integrity of the operating system:
open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:
    4) sfc /scannow
    5) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    6) When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread
    7) Open control panel > large or small icons > troubleshooting > on the left pane click view all > windows update > advanced > run as administrator > un-check apply fixes automatically
Post images of any detected problems or any fixed problems into the thread

okay. What came from the windows update troubleshooter? Did it find or fix anything?
What were you attempting when you got the 803c0103?
    Were there any failed KB#?

I have build 15063.0 build on my computer. When I go to update catalog it says latest version is 15063.674.If I try to install with standalone installer it says this is not applicable to you computer.I think all the issue might be that I canít activate windows.I bought this off a guy used.I guess I will have to go and buy windows 10.It was originally a windows 8 updated to 10.Any other ideas ?

    15063.674 is the latest build.
If you had a legitimate copy then you have a digital license.
So you could make a clean install or a hardware change and reinstall windows.
Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste: slmgr /dlv
Post the image into the thread or use a one drive or drop box share link.
