New Install, Tray apps vanished completely, need manual start on boot
I wondered why my mouse profiles didnt work today and on closer inspection all my tray icons of programs which normally should autostart (not system icons, actual autostart programs) were completely missing from the tray.
This includes my motherboard (realtek) sound panel, my mouse software, my net meter, many things which should autostart. I had 6 or 7 things in there from setting this new Windows 10 OS up and now almost all are gone and I cant even remember everything which was in there.
I can find these items and load them ok, but even clicking/unclicking/reclicking 'load on startup' refuses to put the tray programs back on autorun, I have to manually search them out each boot and start them, close the window and then theyll stay in the tray till my next boot and they have gone again needing manually loading again.
Wth????
Ive only just upgraded (fresh instal) from Windows 7 to 10 this weekend and havnt even had a chance to run its first backup, ive not even finished loading all my programs and now im tearing my hair out trying to get the tray apps back autostarting again.
Any ideas guys?
EDIT: this isnt anything to do with normal windows settings, Ive been using windows since Win95 and know about settings such as which icons show in the tray. These are apps which simply have fallen off the startup list for no reason.
Ive also looked at task manager>startup and there are a couple Ive just managed to get to recognise the autostart again but things like my mouse software or realtek sound panel refuse to be listed, even tho they are in the tray now, and I have unchecked and oked and checked the 'start with windows' option over and over.
