Awesome! That worked. Now things are back to sane :)

Brink, one more question. Is there a way for me to have the folders display more text before the ... cutoff?

Great news. I'm glad it could help. :)

Using Extra Large icons allows more text if that helps some.

    Yeah... no

See, I use Large Icons. I can't do Extra Large, and I can't do Medium (I work from home, I ride 15 hours a day on a lap top, I'm a bit specific in how I want things to be).

I asked a question here and with a screenshot, can you take a look please? I think this must be fixable somehow, and easily too.

Highlighting the icon of the file/folder will show all of its text.

Other than the desktop using the method below, I'm not sure.

Oh My God. I googled it, I came up super duper empty.

And if you don't know, then that's scary.

I know the Microsoft forums won't help. That's the like the most useless forum. Like no exaggeration. Other than WikiHow maybe. Wikihow is first most useless for everything, Microsoft forum is second most useless for everything... in my personal experience :)

Thanks, I'll try what you posted. Will report how it went.
