How To Tell Proper W10 Home Retail From OEM/I?

I have found a very good price for an English International Windows 10 Home, supposadly KW9-00017. However, the seller seems to be under the impression that it might be OEM/OEI which is why it is about €40 cheaper than usual.
What specific questions can I ask him to determine if it is a proper, transferable retail version of the English Int. OS or some one shot OEM/OEI?
Is the packaging gatefold(docs, USB, key code etc) for the retail and a grubby envelope for the OEM/I version? If it has KW9-00017 on the box does that pin it down as a retail English International transferable copy?

The ad also states that it is a USB copy, if that helps at all, and the photo is of a generic gatefold W10 Home box.

    Any ideas?
    Tom.

I forgot to add, and this might pin it down, the only code showing on the advert is this: x19-92030-03.
Can anyone decipher it and determine exactly what language and type of W10 Home it is?

Ask him to use check product key option of showkeyplus and show you results blanking out all but last five digits of key by clicking on output of key.

I just did five minutes finding out what 'showkeyplus' is. Ok, a method to confirm and validate the key.

However, if this is new retail version, or any version, won´t it be poly sealed and I suppose the seller will be unwilling to open it to check the code validity/type.

You are correct about the box being sealed. If it was open I wouldn't buy it. As Far as I know Showkey would show the key of the OS that is running.

showkey also has a check product key function. You click that, enter a key manually, and it will tell you what Edition etc its for.

    ShowKeyPlus
Wouldn't they have to open the package to get the product key or would that be listed on the outside?

Well yes. You have to open it. Otherwise you could just use a photo of the box from the internet.

You can't check an imaginary key. If I was selling a key I certainly wouldn't tell you the key so you could "check it".

Are you suggesting they ask for the key to "check" it. And then give it back and promise not to use it or tell any one? How about you post all your MSDN keys so we all can "check" them?

    Hmmm.

OEM (or system builder) license isn't transferable. According to the EULA (which may or may not be enforceable depending where you live) you can only use it for a new build PC you intend to sell to someone else. No-one cares about that.

If you want a transferable license you need to get a full retail - which are slightly (about €40) more expensive.

If I was the OP I'd just get a cheap Windows 7 license and use that.

My point is that if the package is open the license may be in use by someone else. I would never buy licensed software if the package was already opened.

I was just responding to the, "As Far as I know Showkey would show the key of the OS that is running." Just pointing out that , if you have access to the key, you can check it with showkey. That's all. You can type any key you want into that box and verify it. Not everybody knows that. As mentioned, not much good for a shrink wrapped key. It is handy for those that buy those E-Bay Keys, if you know what I mean.
