Cannot click and type at the same time

I'm having a problem on my new laptop where I cannot use the mouse buttons while pressing or holding a key. This is caused by the touchpad delay being set to "medium" and has usually be changed by going to the mouse and touchpad setting in Pc and Devices and changing the delay to "none". However my settings window seems to be different to everyone elses: https://prnt.sc/gtoe4r As you can see, the "mouse and touchpad" tab has been separated into two individual tabs, neither of which has an option to change the touchpad delay.
Has anyone encountered this problem, or have a method to fix it? Thanks for your help.

Touchpad settings should be available via a tab there - the right one as shown in my case.

In that case you need to look into reinstalling your touchpad driver.

Sometimes that can be difficult to succeed with - there are plenty of posts around about that- I seem to recall it happening to me once.

This situation makes it a perfect time for you to try out Chris Hoffman's How-to Geek Advice on Precision Touchpad drivers: How to Enable Microsofts Precision Touchpad Drivers on Your Laptop . I did it on my two Lenovos and single Dell Venue Pro last week, and it worked like a champ!
