Input Indicator and Adjust pinned folders launch speed etc

Input Indicator and Adjust pinned folders launch speed etc

I just recently made a dual-boot of Win 10 Pro version 1511 (partition 1) and version 1703 (partition 2). I did that to see the differences of both.

I observed that there is a bit of a delay when I right-click the tray icon of File Explorer to select a folder I have pinned. There's a delay of about 2.5-3sec before the folder appears.

Can I adjust the speed of the launch? When compared to version 1511 the delay is VERY minimal perhaps not even closer to 2 seconds. This is a deskop with 24gb of RAM and an R7 video card. This is a fast system in Win 8.1 Pro and in Win 10 Pro ver 1511. When I upgraded the lone partition with Win 10 Pro version 1511 I also noticed that sort of delay and even in just launching folders and sometimes when typing text. Thus to see both differences I opted to dual-boot the two Win 10 Pro versions at the moment.

I also have an problem with the "Input Indicator" --US keyboard even if I have turned it "off" in Taskbar settings but it's always there after reboot/restart/log-off.

Can you guys help me out please....

    Thanks!

I see the same -it's back after logging on again.

    Possible fudge:
I suppose it would be possible to note the registry change when changing its state, and use a small script to repeat that. But that's hardly what you want to do.

Suggest this is one to feed back to MS (e.g. Feedback Hub app).

Here's a workaround, found with a quick search:

Also please see the discussion following this tutorial: (It's very often worth consulting the extensive tutorial section here).

    Speed of response:
You may well find that the second time you launch explorer it will appear more quickly than the first some 2s on mine to under 0.5s subsequently (and I have some add-ons - 3rd party programs as you can see). Mine (see My Computer) will not be as fast as yours. Presumably depends on what remains resident in RAM.

Of course depends also on other background tasks.

Did this and it seems to be working. I do not see it now. Will check when I reboot. As to the speed thing, it's still the same here....on version 1511 it ain't so. In Win 8.1 Pro almost no delay at all it's superfast there.

I am thinking that it may be a display driver issue here....I also noticed that when I get a screenshot of the desktop or window using Snagit the image that displays in Snagit Editor is garbled a bit before it corrects itself. Just a bit about 1.5 sec and then it goes fine. I have AMD Radeon R7 240 series card and using "win10-64bit-radeon-software-crimson-relive-16.12.1-dec7" driver.

Anyone? Maybe Brink can help me out on this
