    Hi,

Do you mean the desktop - or the Start Menu? Given your reference to Classic Shell, I assume you mean the Start Menu.

The Start Menu shows tiles on the right, and optionally (and by default) a list of programs, grouped, on the left.

Classic shell start menu is excellent- I and others here use it.
If you install it, you can still launch the (poorly conceived, frustrating - my opinion) Win 10 start menu, and you can launch the Win 10 universal apps from it too.

Its search features are better, and the whole thing is much more configurable, flexible and intuitive.
However, if you want tiles, you need sthg else.

Don't bother about removing Cortana- you can end up in more trouble than you want. If you still want to, in the tutorial section here, there's a tutorial about that.

Just ignore it, and use the option from the taskbar to hide its search box.

In the Tutorial section, which you're free to browse and search,

I have searched 'tiles' for you.

Coming from Win 7 you will find Win 10 far less customisable, but there are things you can do. Superfly's SMACC partly replaces the missing Advanced Display Features dialogue.

Example of mine with a few changes (using 3rd party programs and a theme file saved and created using the above utility (or a widely known registry mod):

You can find examples of what others have done in some of threads in Customisation.

    Thanks for your help
I meant Desktop not Start Menu.
But I thought mistakenly Classic Shell might fix the issue, but it doesn't I guess

Please post a screenshot of your desktop so we can understand what you are seeing. (Or is that your imgur image?)

Do you perhaps have the start menu set to full screen? (Bottom right)

If the start screen is not full screen you should be able to see part of your desktop. Do you?

Your image does not show any of your desktop, just the taskbar and start screen.

Close the start screen, and post a screenshot of your desktop please, as you are saying its content is not what you expect.
How to post a screenshot is indicated at the end of my last post. Thanks.

Do you perhaps have tablet mode enabled?

Note: it shouldn't be possible to enlarge the start screen to cover your screen by dragging it.
