explorer.exe "the requested object does not exist"

I am unable to open files on my android device (Galaxy s6) when plugged into the PC via USB cable. This includes jpg, wav, mp3, and mp4 video files.

I get an error every time I try to open anything

    The error message says

"explorer.exe the requested object does not exist"

I Googled the message but only really old outdated results showed up in Google and NOTHING pertaining to Explorer.exe!

I only want to move a certain picture to my Windows 10 PC and I cannot even open it up to find the correct one!

I really do not want to have to move ALL my pictures onto the PC just to find and open ONE image!

It works flawlessly on Windows 7 but I cannot open anything up on Windows 10 unless I take it off my phone into a folder on my computer and again I do not want to remove all my photos from the device just to find one.

The phones uses MTP and PTP and neither of these will let me preview anything

If you're just trying to get a file (pic, vid, etc) to the PC, Bluetooth transfer it. I have an ancient S4, and Bluetooth .jpg and .mp4 all the time, to my desktop Windows 10.
