My Windows 7 Ultimate hasn't downloaded any files. Is this only for Windows Insider people?

I have the bt folder on my win10, and it was never a win7 or 8 , it was clean install of one of the earlier version of a win10 iso
Is it now build 10240 though? Mine is 10240, fully updated, no Windows ~BT folder.

I wasn't getting anything downloaded on my Win 8.1.1 Pro X64 system. I normally use a local login. Finally I switched to my MS login and was prompted to verify my MS account. Went through them sending me a code then pasting that code into the verification window.

30 seconds later the download started and is going on now.

    Looks like it staging to:

    "C:\OneDriveTemp\S-1-5-21-794305362-3819479439-442165928-1005\5196BAF63CDEDDA5!134-5196BAF63CDEDDA5!135-5196BAF63CDEDDA5!822-7fd4422ef73f9e7fa3782cb04da94e9f.temp"

When it finishes I expect that to become install.esd in the C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources folder.

Edit: Then again that just may be SkyDrive syncing from the internet to my SkyDrive folder on this computer. I had not setup SkyDrive before on this computer. Bummer, hope it's Win 10 and not just SkyDrive.

Edit2: Rats, looks like it just SkyDrive.

Did you get your actual 'Ready for upgrade' message. It won't work until you do. It could show up in Windows Update or a popup in your notification area.

On my sister's Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit computer, it's saying Windows 10 Home failed in installed updates through Windows update. It gives me the error code.

This is happening all over. I just looked at the Microsoft Community Insider forums and there are lots of reports of the same error. They are saying just wait and all will be resolved on the 29th or later.

A friend of mine on Facebook is wanting to upgrade to Windows 10. Unfortunately, he hasn't even upgraded to Windows 8.1 yet. Will he lose his games and stuff if he upgrades to Windows 8.1?
