Followed the path to "Download" and find that it's dated 7/28/2015 9:20 AM; about the time I booted Windows 8.1. Guess I need to leave the computer for awhile because Lappy 17 has been sitting there mostly idle and now has 6.53 GB in Windows BT! Yay!

    Later . . . maybe . . .

it's hard to say for certain when it will download
I can only guess that if it has already started (you have the $windows folder) then it wont be long before it does

as its now AM in the US, I imagine the servers are getting hammered more than earlier, so its just a waiting game

By being an insider, were you meaning, those running Windows 10 versus those running 7 or 8.1? I have no Windows~BT folder on my Windows 10 PC. I wasn't really expecting to find one. I think that will just be one small patch delivered tomorrow to start things rolling. I'm not expecting a whole new 3 plus gig download if already running 10240.

I think that you may be right. I am running build 10240 and I have nothing in my system yet.

Does it actually say "Upgrade to Windows 10 has failed" or just that an update has failed? The actual upgrade to Windows 10 won't happen until the 29th, tomorrow some time.
It just says that an update has failed. Did you see my screenshot?

Yes I looked at your screen shoot, but imacanadian stated "I see your screenshot and have the same message about " Upgrade to Windows 10 failed" Big difference. Why assume the upgrade that failed is the upgrade to Windows 10? That's not supposed to happen until tomorrow some time. It could be any upgrade that failed.

You may have to do the upgrade first to get the ISO, and a product code to use for the clean install.
    Yes, of course :)
I will do the Upgrade first but I will not install anything, I will keep what the System will decide to keep and I will not base myself on it. I will wait until the official ISO will become available. I do not wish to create my own ISO, either.

One thing that I am curious about is what drivers will the Upgrade install on my system. My motherboard's manufacturer (ASRock, see System Spec's) has already released both the Intel .INF file and the IME driver. Both crucially important I consider them and I always install them first, like the INF - reboot, IME - reboot. Now I'm curious to see what the Upgrade's installer will do.

Finally, I will remove my secondary SSD right now. I will unplug it and I'll put it back after the Upgrade's completion. It contains build 10240 which I use as an Insider - and I will continue using it. I do not prefer a boot screen though. I prefer to press F11, whenever I wish to log in as an Insider.
