Yes, thought of that as well, but nothing is downloading at all? I think that just prevents installations?

I would still highly recommend a clean install. That's the first step after powering on an OEM system.

The only web browser that is available in Windows 10 is Edge. Elite is a malware program, which if you had it installed, it can basically take control.
Edge is the default, but IE is still present. It's under Windows Accessories.

I rarely use it any more since MS has allowed Edge to access the MS Update Catalog. I use Chrome as an alternative for sites that aren't fully compatible with Edge.

It has been stated on here and on every website that handles Windows questions, including Microsoft.com, that Internet Explorer has been completely removed from Creator's. The reason that there is still the IE tool and folders, is because Edge still needs those to work correctly.

False information. As an insider I know it's in the latest build released last week also. They hide it in the accessories folder.

Internet Explorer, the venerable web browser that has graced Windows for over two decades, is no more. While it's still included with Windows 10, its place as the default operating system has now been taken by its newer, shinier stablemate, Edge.
Some more false info you gave. Different rendering engine altogether. It doesn't need any aspect of IE.

Microsoft Edge also sports a new rendering engine called EdgeHTML. This replaces the Trident engine used in IE over the last couple of decades.
Not sure what you read, but amongst many other places, both quotes are from here: What is Microsoft Edge? Everything you need to know | IT PRO

IMO I think you should use an OS before commenting about or bashing it.

Rubbish. A clean install of Creators Update:

Sorry to burst your bubble Bree, Internet Explorer has been removed by Microsoft from Creators Update. Microsoft is removing IE out of Windows 10 and focusing on Edge. If you still have IE11, count yourself lucky. The install that I did on my wife's machine had IE removed completely after updating it.

Just because you posted a screenshot of System info and IE. Depending on when you installed Windows 10, was most likely way before I just did a install on the desktop for my wife. There are posts out there that IE no longer gets installed with Creators Update, because Microsoft has stated that the Edge Browser will be the defacto web browser for Windows. If you do not want to use Edge, ten run Firefox or Chrome.

Funny how some of you turn something into a huge argument when it is not. Maybe do the research instead of trying to get someone else to do the homework for you, all because you think that everything against Microsoft is false.

I clean installed CU recently on two different PC's and can assure you IE is present. Edge is the 'default' browser, yes, but IE is still there.

Can you provide a link to any MS document that shows IE has been dropped ?

You can go look it up for yourself that the current update to Windows 10 for Creators Update, no longer includes IE11.

You want to argue something that Microsoft is getting rid of IE, which they had stated from when Windows was going to releases, IE was going away with Edge taking its place.Someof you can never get it and always challenging someone that has already done the research when I first saw it happened, thatIE11 was there and the Cumulative update that was installed, IE11 no longer existed.

I've no wish to argue and I'm certainly not trying to challenge anyone :)

All I can say is that my Creators Edition that is fully up to date has IE as standard. I did try and look up some search terms generally on the web but found nothing that said IE had been removed.

Please just post a link to some of the material you have seen.

Here is IE (not configured because I never use it) open alongside Edge.
