I'm trying to download from original link from 3rd party authorised dealer. I've been speaking to them and they can't send a disk they say. I just click the link and download fails. "can't download". Just like every other download, but Microsoft had me download something from their store (shopping bag icon) and it worked. So 3rd party downloads not allowed. Thought it was a monopoly thing but they say no, it's open to 3rd party programs.

    ***woohoo***
I figured it out tonight. The "e" on my task bar was not Internet Explorer, it was Internet Elite! They look identical. I got IE from Windows Accessories and can now download anything.
    Got Firefox and my software.
Found this tip online after a hundred Google searches and checked it out. WHEW!

Never download from a third party website, unless it is trusted like majorgeeks.com. Any OS or office downloads, you need to go to Microsoft and go through the process to download the version of Office that you have, which the link I posted above this post a few up, is the direct link to office.microsoft.com, which will let you download Office 2010.

The only web browser that is available in Windows 10 is Edge. Elite is a malware program, which if you had it installed, it can basically take control.

    Interesting.

Its great you have found the reason... what I wouldn't like is that you don't know what is/isn't lurking on your system. IE (Internet Explorer) and MS Edge (W10's own latest browser) are present by default. There is nothing to install to use either of those.

I would copy all your personal stuff to a flash drive and do a totally clean install whereby you format (wipe) everything on the drive.

Mooly, Microsoft officially removed Internet Exploder from all installed distros of Windows 10. The engie is what Edge was set to run on. Only issue that the software and apps make the OS appear to be child like and gaudy.

Hmm... Well IE is definitely present on both my clean Creators Installations (x86) although I do use Edge pretty much exclusively.

Only the "bad" one was on the task bar. When I put IE there too the only difference between icons was a variation of blue.
