It's one of the first options I set when setting up a computer - it is still there, as long as I'm in a folder. For instance from 'This PC', it isn't in a folder so it can't apply a setting to "all folders of that type" and it's greyed out.
Yes, a folder needs to be chosen. Haven't been in there for quite some time for I don't use it anymore. Not sure about every build, but it auto remembers my choice the next time I open FE.

It's old and slow :)
The column heading in Win 10 File Explorer is 'Date'. But which one?
I've always been used in XP to the default being 'Date modified', but it seems that here it's Date created? Several re-saves have left 'Date' unchanged.

A few years back, I had a bat file (that may have been written by Shawn B) that did three things: it launched the time syncing process, then when the process had succeeded, it triggered the playing of a sound, and finally, it opened the Time and...
I noticed something disconcerting: sometimes, when I move a jpg file to another folder, the date created timestamp is changed to the time I do this. Sometimes it doesn't (the timestamps don't change). The day I did the move was 12/10/2019.
See...
How can I add to this batch command to include the date:
xcopy C:\all\* Z:\Allbak\* /E /Y /C
I'd like the resulting file to be named "Z:\Allbak171129" (yr mo day).
The plan is to set up a task schedule to run the batch file every week. I...
OK, I've done the settings for the time & date. However, no matter how wide I make the Taskbar, the short form continues to be shown. In Windows 7, when the Taskbar was widened, the long form would be shown. Is there something I need to do here? ...
