    all folders are read only

Today I discovered that all my files are read only. I had saved a spreadsheet yesterday, then today I went to open it and it said read only. Then I looked at other files and the read only box was checked. Even when I unchecked it, and closing the property box, when I opened the property box again it was checked again. I did a search, but they were all over 455 days old. I tried some of the things they suggested, and nothing worked. I turned off my anti-virus, but I still couldn't change it. I'm the only one that uses my computer. And I'm the administrator. Yet some times it would say I need administrative rights. Any ideas how to fix this? I'm surprised other programs haven't started acting up.

Try to reboot (not shut down) and login again, it happens somehow that you are logged to a sort of temporary account, can't say it is your problem but worth a try

I found out that avast update had a new shield for ransomware. So it made all my files read only. So I got that fixed.
