The Celeron in your Acer is a Quad core, but a Celeron is a piece of junk, you should just see if you can max out that machine instead of buying something used.

The cpu in the Acer may be soldered to the board, I`m not sure but just googling it said it was. So....

But if you can upgrade the cpu and max out the memory to 8 GB it be better then wasting money on something else.

There are used cpu`s all over Ebay, I have maxed out every other older PC in my house and they all fly.
The Acer desktop isn't mine though. It's my mom's. Yes, I have it listed as mine in my specs because I also partly own it since I bought it for her and keep it updated. The Toshiba Laptop that's listed in my specs is mine personally. It's signed in under my name. The Toshiba doesn't have enough processing power. That's why I am in the market for a desktop computer with more processing power. Yes, I have upgraded the memory of the Toshiba to 8GB but it's weak point is it's processor which is a Dual Core Intel Celeron.

Someone has offered to build me one. I did Prom pictures for his sister once and he messaged me on Facebook and has offered to build me one. I explained to him that I wasn't rich and that I was on a fixed income with Autism. He is supposed to be working on a price now.

So I went and looked at that computer yesterday. It is a custom computer. He said he wants me to come and try it out before I decide on purchasing.

I don't know if it will have the same specs once he is finished with it. I assume the 8GB RAM and 1 TB HD, Windows 10 Home, SD Card Reader, and DVD/RW will stay. I don't know about the processor.

Looking at purchasing an HP Slimline desktop computer

The processor listed in spec sheet says it's dual core CPU.

Your software says it needs quad core to be happiest.

If the computer is truly custom, odds are it would be new motherboard or CPU,stick configuration of that computer was M2N68-LA motherboard,4 Gb RAM 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM,128Mb Graphics chip,500 Gb hdd, Vista Home Premium 64-bit?

What I'm reading on HP website, says it support 4Gb but, can take Quad core CPU.

I think your software suggested higher video Ram, which would suggest video card, and POwer is 220watts only.

Don't you have someone making another computer in exchange for taking his sisters prom pictures.

When you see the custom computer from 1st guy check out the specification, what makes it custom.

4Gb Ram, and a 1 Tb HDD vs an ??

Can't advise really until you say what it really is, if upgraded.

The joy of fishing with an iPhone, can't go back pages on it, try a google search for something like, pcsforpeople.com they may have I5 dual cores. In your price range, maybe. Sell to lower income people but, other than the name don't have clue to their quality of refurbished computers. And don't know if they do slimline cases, just towers. Think I looked at site the other night.

Your in ALabama and I'm not.
    I'm editing this post now.

I will check it out. He does guarantee his work. So if
    I don't like it,
I can always return it and get my money back. The computer is selling for $200. He is offering me $135 for my Laptop as a trade in. I have $15 to put down on it as well. All I will owe is $65. He is getting me a keyboard and speakers. I will have to purchase a monitor or get one from him.

Will do! As far as having a computer built, the guy wanted to charge me $400 to have it built and I didn't charge his sister anything, but the flash drive to put her pictures on. So no, I will not be using him. He could at least return the favor.
