how to recover shift deleted files?

I have a bad habit of hitting shift+delete to delete files so that I don't have to delete it again in the recycle bin but sometimes I mess up things and delete some files that I don't intend to, with shift+del. What can I do to recover accidentally deleted files in that way? Windows 10 Thank you

AS I understand it, when any file is deleted by Windows, the directory entry is truncated so the file does not show up again when you run Windows Explorer, but the physical file is still there...and as long as you don't save a new file that could overwrite the old one, it can still be recovered.

I don't think you can do that within Windows itself, but there are a litany of programs out there in web land that claim they can restore deleted files.

There may be better answers, but that's mine.
    Good Luck mate!

You'll need to search the 'net to locate a recovery program. I've used Recuva from Recuva - Restore deleted files, even if youve emptied the Recycle bin! - Piriform a couple years ago but haven't tried the latest yet.

Any free for sure program? If it's charged, I 'll then be more careful next time rather because my files are usually not very important

Here's a list of free programs. Recuva is a good one:

Hi, you may try ApowerRecover to recover permanently deleted files.
    • It works perfectly on Windows 10 and other systems.
    • It has a clear interface and is user-friendly. As you can choose the file types before scanning and find the files according to file types.
    • It scans quickly and safely.

Tip: Whether you use this program or not, please make sure not put other files in the location where your lost files were stored, or the lost files can be hardly restored successfully.
